This is a stunning Verbena that produces an abundance of blue flowers borne on tall well branched spires. A brilliant hardy perennial plant that will thrive in moist but well drained soils in full sun. Will work well towards the back of a border and its multiple branches will produce plenty of extra flowers for a sensational cut bouquet. Flowers June to September. Height 1.2m.

Sow indoors. Sow into moist well-drained seed compost. Just cover the seed with vermiculite. Propagate at 18-21°C. This can have very slow and erratic germination(14-90 days). Germination occurs in the light. Do not moisten the soil again until after germination. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed 30cm apart.
Growing; Grow in a mass for best effect. Pinch back when first planted to encourage branching. Water deeply to encourage root growth. May require a frame on which to grow.
Cultivation; If sown early it will flower in the same year. Cut and come again variety. Cut flowers regularly to encourage growth and to prolong flowering window. Deadhead if you do not want it to self-seed. Cut back in spring once new shoots emerge at the base.
