Sow in spring 1/16 inch deep in fine seed grade compost, the ideal temperature to encourage germination falls between 18-23C and if you are able to keep this as standard, you'll be rewarded with a germination time of around 6-14 days. Leave them, and let them grow until they are large enough to handle and transplant in to 3" pots.

Grow on under cooler conditions and when about 8 inches tall, either plant in their growing position in the greenhouse or gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions and plant out 18 inches apart in a warm, sheltered and sunny spot in moist, fertile well drained soil and keep watered.
