    • For my Autumn onion sets, I plant them early in autumn. If I’m aiming for an autumn planting, I do it about six weeks before the threat of frost is completely gone. I always plant with the pointy end up, about 1 to 2 inches deep, to ensure they’re nestled comfortably and can start to grow sturdy roots right away.
